Which files can I compress?

The adjustable quality workflow supports JPEG, WebP, and AVIF when the required browser codec is available.

Why is my PNG not included?

This workflow does not provide adjustable lossy PNG compression. Change it to WebP or AVIF when a much smaller file is the goal.

Will every result be smaller?

No. A source may already be efficiently encoded. Image Shed measures the result and reports it honestly.

Does compression change the file type?

No. Each eligible result keeps its source file type.

Can I compress a batch?

Yes. Start with up to 100 images at 50 MB per file. Advanced settings can raise the limit to 500.
